Things To Do in North Wales in October

Are you planning a trip to North Wales in October?

It might be getting a little chiller around these parts, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t think about booking a stay here.

To tempt you over to North Wales next month there are a handful of truly big, international events that are bound to pique the interest of the whole family. There’s an opportunity to see some high-octane rally racing all around the North Wales area, when the World Rally Championship comes to Wales and a popular Welsh tourist town is due to be flooded with international food stalls…

UK Pro Surf Tour @ Surf Snowdonia

The first event of it’s kind taking place in the UK, this event is absolutely free and offers the chance to watch some of the biggest names in UK Surfing compete for points in a Tour that will be concluding in Newquay at the end of November. The artificial wave machine at Surf Snowdonia will supply the surfing pros with consistent waves all day, which should mean that there’ll be plenty of action for spectators to take in. Food and drink will be available all day, until 11pm and there’s also live music and a soft play for young children.

Porth Eirias 10k 2017

North Wales has some of the most stunning coastal scenery in Great Britain and what better way to enjoy it than a brisk jog dressed as a witch?

The annual Porth Eirias 10K will be starting and finishing at the Bryn William Restaurant in Colwyn Bay. Suitable for ages 15+ this competitive event will be chip timed, so that runners can get an accurate readout of their time. The course is flat with only a couple of hills to challenge runners, so the times should be quick, unless your Halloween fancy dress happens to slow you down!

Full race day services will be provided to runners, there’ll be an opportunity to win prizes for the best dressed and all competitors will receive a high-quality medal for their efforts. Even though the distance is short, it will still pay off to do some training.

Where? Bryn Williams Restaurant, Colwyn Bay

When? Saturday 28th October 2017. Registration opens at 8am. Race starts at 10am, race fee is £12 per adult.
