Things To Do in North Wales in February

Book a stay in North Wales and enjoy one of these unique experiences this February.

There’s always something interesting happening here, whether it’s a community-led fun run or a fully fledged international sporting event.

With the weather beginning to cheer up here and half-term well on it’s way, February’s a great time of year to visit North Wales whether you’re travelling as a couple or with your family. The days are getting longer and with the mercury slowly rising you’ll be able to make even more of your holiday here. Those with green fingers can try their hand at planting flowers at a National Trust garden and sports fans can get carried along with the excitement of the Six Nations.

Bangor Music Festival

Each year the University of Bangor hosts a one day music festival pulling in some of the best musicians from the institution as well as the rest of North Wales. This year’s theme is ‘Space’ and offers visitors the chance to explore the cosmos through the dual mediums of music and science. The worlds of classical and avant-garde music collide with Bangor University Fusion Ensemble’s Moon, meanwhile the Bangor New Music Ensemble will be performing their new piece, Orbit.

Snowdrop Planting at Bodnant Garden

With over 150 years of gardening heritage behind it, visitors to the National Trust’s Bodnant Garden have the chance to become part of that history by helping the gardeners sow the Snowdrops. For years now visitors to the historic garden have been invited to plant a snowdrop for posterity – the current count stands at over 20,000 and you have the chance to add yet another bulb to that vast number, which should cover the grounds in no time.

This is one of the biggest sporting events of the year for Welsh people and it’s a real experience to watch it in a pub with a crowd of locals cheering their team on. The match will be shown in every pub that has a TV, so turn up early and grab a seat before they all go.
